Recruit.net is an emerging online job portal for those seeking a job. It is customised by usage of different countries, so whether you are in China, Australia etc, you can still find your preferred job at the site. Currently they are looking for suggestions to improve their site. So here I am to give my 2 cents worth.
°☆★ Knowledge Zone ★☆°Before starting on the job seeking journey, the job seeker needs to equip himself with the necessary information to ensure success. This zone will provide details on how to prepare for an interview, the do's & dont's before, during and after the interview, how to write an impressive cover letter/resume, how to brush up your communication skills. It can be shown in both text and video formats. I think video presentations displayed in a light-hearted manner can offset the seriousness in job searching.
°☆★ Colour Chooser ★☆°
Users can change the words and background to their desired colours. This will facilitate more interest in them when they are using the site.
°☆★ myJob Wishlist ★☆°This wishlist is extremely useful for those who are uncertain of which job to apply for. So when they have come across a job of their interest, they can save it to their wishlist. The next time when they log in, the list of jobs that they have once searched can be found in the wishlist.
°☆★ 1-day Work ★☆°
Recruit.net can arrange with companies to provide a one day tryout session for users who signed up for them. This will give job seekers a feel of how it is like if they chose to take up the job.
To generate loyalty among users, rewarding them is a good way for acknowledging their efforts.
°☆★ Referral Bonus ★☆°
Word of mouth (mouse) strategy is cost-effective and works tremendous power. Users who refer friends to Recruit.net, which in turn generates actual sign-up, will get rewards that can be in the form of vouchers, cash etc.
°☆★ I’ve Got The Job! ★☆°A reward system can be set up for those who found a job through Recruit.net. This way, users will be more enthusiastic in job-seeking. Comments can be posted by job seekers who successfully got a job through Recruit.net, thus helping to attract more people to visit the site.
°☆★ Hear it from Mr Workaholic ★☆°
Recruit.net can be used not only by job seekers, it can also be for those who are working as well. A job consultant, perhaps known as Mr. Workaholic (similar to Auntie Agony), will handle any questions posted by users regarding work.
°☆★ Community Groups ★☆°
Letting users create groups and join their preferred groups to forge community bonding. Groups can be private or public. Users can post comments and pictures for their group to view.
There is an increasing number of students who are joining the workforce. So it will be appropriate to have a student section for students to search jobs for their internship or as part-time. This will make it easier for them to find a job. Currently the Singapore website cannot search by location. Recruit.net can allow users to search by location, amount of pay, qualifications required. The jobs posted can also be split into categories such as requiring resume/not requiring resume. A glossary of industry jargon will be useful to job seekers as well.
